First Edition A. J. Donahue “Winnipeg Chair” or “The Canadian Coconut Chair”

An early, pre-steel frame first edition of the chair that inspired George Nelson’s “Coconut Chair.” A. J. Donahue designed this Mid-Century Modern chair in the late 1940s. George Nelson, having attended a design expo in Canada was inspired by this design and created his famous chair after. A very rare and highly desired collectible this edition is. It has been recently re-upholstered.
