Large Textured Glass and Brass Flush Mount, 1970s

Stunning, extra large and extremely hard to find (60cm / 24″) Mid-Century Modern textured ice glass 24 inch light fixture by German manufacturer Hillebrand, circa 1965.

This vintage ceiling light, often mistakenly attributed to Kalmar, features a huge round glass dish made of ‘Frit’ glass – a technique involving hundreds of tiny glass shards which are molded into the glass during its manufacture, giving the piece a heavy ice appearance which refracts the light, filling a room with a soft, warm and welcoming glow.

Mounted on a polished solid brass flush mount and held in place by four large, rounded brass screws.

Newly re-wired and cleaned the light requires six E14 screw fit light bulbs (40Watt Max. per bulb).
