Niamh Barry, “Tilted Head II,” Suspended Light Sculpture, Ireland, 2016

This remarkable sculpture by Niamh Barry—a composition of fluid rings in polished bronze and LEDs covered by tiled strips of opal glass—is, like much of the artist’s work, inspired by the human form and its movements. Titled Head II, in particular, with its dynamic counter-poise of horizontal and vertical forms mimics the fundaments of embrace.
